Honestly, the Starion/Conquest is one of my favorite 80's sports cars. A guy with this one showed up at Supercar Sunday and I was in love!

I never understood why they made the starion RWD, then when it was replaced by a FWD 3000GT

Thanks like my one complaint about 3000GT's, what wheels power it.

I can't even remember the last time I've seen a starion. Probably back when mitsubishi was still building interesting cars.

I agree. The 3000GT could have been a real Supra competitor IF they had have made the basic ones RWD and kept the performance ones AWD. The only way hat companies can keep building the batshit powerful ones is if the basic one is still prifitable, I.E. 300ZX, Supra, every other 90's sports car...

convinced a friend to buy this years ago. For $2600 with a spare rebuilt engine+turbo, you'd be a jerk not to.

Hmmm, look at the GTR now and it helps. The GTR is a high end, runs-with-supercars type and, as far as I know, it always has been (Kinda like a 2 door Evo). The 300zx is more of a GT car, like the Supra.

I guess it is true that R32-34's were running down the best of the exotics back in the day.

This is all confusing to me, I always felt like nissan built two cars in the same segment, I don't know.

Again, I always took the Z32 to be more of a sporty GT car. One thing that adds another level of confusion to this is the fact that I now own a Z32.

I always thought of it as a GT car, but it doesn't even have cup holders and is pretty cramped. AAAAAAGH IDK!!!!!!

I've always viewed the Z32 as a Grand Tourer also, so I'm not arguing there. Wikipedia calls the skyline a "Sports Compact"... I mean, Most supercars are 2 seat mid engine, the skyline has 4 seats, and sometimes its even a sedan.

I guess it would be broken down as that. The 300ZX is a grand tourer, and the skyline is a sports compact... At least thats what wikipedia is pounding into my head.
